My First Book Club

A kid-friendly twist on the classic book club, we will have a weekly theme that complements the story we are reading.

Weekly on Tuesdays (except July 2) for incoming 1st-3rd graders.

About Book Club:
Suzanne will read aloud. (10-15 min)
Draw your favorite part & share. (10 min)
Answer trivia questions. (10 min)
Participate in a craft, STEM activity, or movement activity & snack (20 min)

Book & Theme Selection:
June 18th – “Pet Adventures” – Henry & Mudge: The First Adventure by Cynthia Rylant
June 25th – “Tricky Adventures” – Lousy Rotten Stinkin’ Grapes by Margie Palatini
July 2nd – NO book club
July 9th – “Sailing Adventures” – The Antlered Ship by Dashka Slater
July 16th – “Silly Adventures” – Mercy Watson to the Rescue by Kate DiCamillo
July 23rd – “Neighborhood Adventures” – The Infamous Ratsos by Kara LaReau

The first meeting’s books will be available at the Summer Reading Launch Party on June 11th and copies of the next week’s book will be available at the end of the current week’s club meeting. The remaining copies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
