The Lifelong Learning Center is a place for continuing education for all ages.
Located on the second floor of the Sandpoint Library branch, the center consists of five tutoring rooms, one coordinator and MANY volunteer tutors!

Tutoring Services

We offer personalized, one-on-one, in-person tutoring at the Library (subject to tutor availability).

Here’s how it works:

  1. Meet with our Lifelong Learning Coordinator to discuss the student’s goals.
  2. Get matched with a tutor based on skills, learning style, and schedule.
  3. Start sessions! Most students meet weekly for one-hour lessons at a time that works for them

Volunteering

Our tutoring program is only possible with volunteers in our community. Training, support and a quiet space in our Lifelong Learning Center are provided to our volunteers. If you want to make a difference in someone’s life, please consider becoming a tutor.

Tutoring Rooms

Three Tutoring Rooms are available at the Sandpoint Library and one Tutoring Room is available at the Clark Fork Library when they are not reserved for our tutoring program.

School Year Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 3 pm, 5 pm – 7 pm
Friday: 10 am – 3 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm

Summer Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 7 pm
Friday & Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm

REQUEST A TUTORING ROOM

Tutoring Room Request

Room priority is given to tutoring students and test proctoring that are part of the Library’s Lifelong Learning Center program. Room use for other purposes may be required to move/reschedule if the room is needed for Lifelong Learning.

Reservation Guidelines:

  • Walk-ins and reservations are not available Monday - Friday from 3 PM - 5 PM, except during summer months.
  • Weekly room use is limited to 10 hours per week, per person. Rooms can only be booked up to one week in advance.
  • Daily room use is limited to up to 2 hours per day, with up to 2 hours extension for a maximum of 4 consecutive hours. The extension is not guaranteed and may only be granted 15 minutes before the initial booking ends.
  • Must be at least 18 to make a reservation.
  • The room will be released 15 minutes after the start time of a missed reservation.
Prohibited:
  • Sales, advertising, solicitation or promotion of products, commercial services or political agenda
  • Strictly social functions, defined as an event to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, etc
Room Rules:
  • Rooms must be cleared of personal belongings at the agreed time.
  • Rooms may not be rearranged.
  • No food is allowed in the tutoring rooms.
  • Ethernet cables may not be plugged into personal devices.

Unavailable on Fridays and Saturdays after 4:30 PM.
