Library Materials
Everything you need to know about checking materials out at The Library.
What kind of items do you have and how many can I check out?
You can have 20 items on your library card at any time. Each family member can have their own card.
Please note the following item type limits:
- 20 Books
- 10 DVDs
- 8 Spoken Word
- 8 Music CDs
- 8 Playaways
- 8 Magazines
- 2 Video games
- 1 STEM kit or Literacy kit
- 1 Launchpad tablet (Kids & Teens)
- 1 Wonderbook
- 1 Wifi hotspot (per family)
- 1 “Thing” from the Library of Things
How long can I keep them?
Items check out for 3 weeks, with some exceptions:
2 weeks
- DVDs
- Kits
- Launchpad tablets
- Library of Things items
- Video games
1 week:
- Wifi hotspots
Items automatically renew for 3 weeks*, up to 3 times** if no one is waiting!
*Items that check out for 1 or 2 weeks, only renew for 1 week at a time.
**Wifi hotspots only renew 1 time. Kits and Library of Things do not renew.
Fines and Fees
We are an (almost) fine free library! No fees will be applied for late items except for Wifi Hotspots. While we are mostly fine free, any overdue items will prevent you from borrowing digital content and items more than 7 days overdue will prevent you from checking out materials.
Lost and Damaged Materials
Replacement fees for lost or damaged items still apply.

The following downloadable content each has its own borrowing limits.

Hoopla
Use Hoopla to download several types of digital content all in one place!
Borrowing Limit: 10 titles per month
Loan Period:
- Audiobooks, comics & ebooks: 21 days
- Movies & TV: 3 days
- Music: 7 days
Libby/OverDrive
You can download eBooks and eAudiobooks with OverDrive in your browser or the Libby app.
Borrowing Limit: 8 titles at a time (excluding magazines)
Holds Limit: 6 titles on hold at a time
Loan Period:
- eBooks: up to 21 days
- eAudiobooks: up to 14 days

Kids’ Items
We have a variety of AV items and activity kits for kids (and their parents) to learn and explore. Check out our Kids’ Borrowing Guide to learn about our Launchpads, Edisonbots, Wonderbooks and more!
Library of Things
Borrow the unexpected! Save money by borrowing items you might use occasionally or try out an item before you buy your own. Items include Birding backpacks, Cricut maker, a GoPro, guitars, Telehealth kits and more!
Search Library of Things in the Library Catalog to explore them all.
Place a Hold
Did you know that you can also go online and put up to 10 items on hold so you can be next in line?
Log in to your Library Account, search for the item you want and click “Place a Hold.” You’ll be notified by email or text when your items are ready for pick-up.
