Meeting Rooms

We offer free meeting rooms for community groups and educational programs.
Please note that all activities must be non-profit, open to the general public, and free of charge.
Meeting rooms may not be used to raise money, engage in activity for which a person receives payment, solicit customers, sign applications for service, advertise a business or collect fees for tuition.

Requesting a Room

Please review the meeting room policy before requesting to reserve a room. The library reserves the right to make changes to room assignments as space dictates including rescheduling or canceling meeting room reservations in order to accommodate library programming or other needs.

Meeting Room Request

When not needed for Library use, the meeting rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis for meetings that are educational, cultural, political, civic, or charitable.
The Library reserves the right to reschedule or cancel meeting room reservations by members of the public, if the occasion arises, in order to accommodate library programming or other needs.

  • All meetings must be open to the public without charge.
  • The sale, advertising, solicitation or promotion of products or services is not allowed in the Library’s meeting rooms.
  • Organizations or individuals may not charge admission fees, fundraise or collect donations before, during or after meetings. Off-site admission fees or pre-payment to attend a meeting are not allowed. It is understood that legitimate dues and membership fees do not constitute admission fees.
  • Presentations that are primarily commercial in nature, rather than educational, are not permitted.
  • Meeting rooms may not be used for private social gatherings or parties.
  • Alcoholic beverages, smoking, using e-cigarettes or the use of smokeless tobacco is not permitted.
  • Programs may not disrupt the use of the Library by others. Persons attending the meetings are subject to all library rules and regulations.

Group responsibility and liability

  • Groups are responsible for arranging the room as needed for their meeting, clearing, and returning the room to its original arrangement at meeting’s end. If refreshments are served, due care and consideration must be given to the library carpet, floors, and other furnishings and equipment.
  • At the conclusion of a meeting, the room must be returned to its original condition. Any group that abuses the meeting room privilege shall lose the right to use the meeting room.
  • Groups or individuals using a meeting room are responsible for all damages to any property of the Library resulting directly or indirectly from the conduct of any member, officer, employee, agent or guest of the group.
  • All meeting room users agree to hold harmless the East Bonner County Library District from and against any and all liability which may be imposed upon them or either of them for any injury to persons or property caused by the organization or any person connected with the meeting.
  • The East Bonner County Library District assumes no responsibility for any property placed in the Library in connection with a meeting; and the East Bonner County Library District is hereby expressly released and discharged from any and all liability for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property which may be sustained by reason of use of a meeting room.

Tutoring Rooms

Tutoring Rooms are available at the Sandpoint Library when they are not reserved for our tutoring program.

Available Hours*:
Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 3 pm, 5 pm – 7 pm
Friday: 10 am – 3 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm

*Summer hours are as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 7 pm
Friday & Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm

Tutoring Room Request

Room priority is given to tutoring students and test proctoring that are part of the Library’s Lifelong Learning Center program. Room use for other purposes may be required to move/reschedule if the room is needed for Lifelong Learning.

Reservation Guidelines:

  • Walk-ins and reservations are not available Monday - Friday from 3 PM - 5 PM, except during summer months.
  • Weekly room use is limited to 10 hours per week, per person.
  • Daily room use is limited to up to 2 hours per day, with up to 2 hours extension for a maximum of 4 consecutive hours. The extension is not guaranteed and may only be granted 15 minutes before the initial booking ends.
  • Must be at least 18 to make a reservation.
  • Room will be released 15 minutes after the start time of a missed reservation.
Prohibited:
  • Sales, advertising, solicitation or promotion of products, commercial services or political agenda
  • Strictly social functions, defined as an event to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, etc
Room Rules:
  • Rooms must be cleared of personal belongings at the agreed time.
  • Rooms may not be rearranged.
  • No food is allowed in the tutoring rooms.
  • Ethernet cables may not be plugged into personal devices.
