Press Your Way Out of Bear Conflict: Farmers’ Market

Join us at the annual Harvest Fest at Farmers’ Market on October 12th. Bring your apples and containers. We will make fresh apple cider for you to take home using our new cider press.

Learn about safely recreating and living in bear country. Reduce bear conflicts by gleaning apples in the fall.

An informational booth with hides, skulls, bear-resistant items, and informational materials will be at the Sandpoint Farmers’ Market (near the fountain). An apple cider press will be set up for the community to bring their own apples and containers to make fresh apple cider. The cider-making process helps stress the importance of gleaning fruit trees in the fall to work to reduce bear conflicts in fruit orchards.

Come stop by the booth and turn your apples into cider!
