North Idaho Christian Writers
North Idaho Christian Writers is a group of Christians who want to learn how to improve their communication and writing skills so they can tell their life stories and beliefs with others. Come to have fellowship time, meet other Christian writers or other people who want to learn how to improve their writing skills. Some writers who attend have written book manuscripts that we are working on to get ready for publication.
Presently, we are reviewing the parts of speech, sentence structure and how to improve your word choices to make your writing more interesting and to create vivid scenes by using the correct words. We have learned about using specific nouns instead of general nouns, using verbs that are vigorous instead of boring, and adding color and senses into the written piece. We combine these special word choices, learn to eliminate extra word baggage, and to bring life into our sentences.
During the meeting we each work from a work-text called ‘Writer’s in Residence’, completing some workbook lessons and then building sentences, paragraphs, and stories. We share ideas, life experiences and the things we’ve learned along our journey.
Anyone interested is welcome to come and participate. Please bring your own writing instruments, notebook paper and a ring binder to store your work in. If you have any questions, please contact Robin Ulbredtch.
The event is not sponsored by the library.
