Mushroom Foraging in the Wild

Join Art Church and other mushroom enthusiasts for a foraging field trip at Huckleberry Campground near Trestle Creek. We’ll start with a safety talk, then a casual walk in the woods. The area we will visit frequently has lobster mushrooms, false chanterelles, chanterelles, honey mushrooms, and fried chicken mushrooms. The program will highlight areas where edible mushrooms are generally found and will give participants a basis to start their own foraging.

Meet at the Huckleberry Camp Ground.
4650 Trestle Creek Rd, Hope, ID 83836

We will begin a safety walk and have a BYO picnic lunch. Then the forage clinic will include identifying mushrooms, edible and nonedible species. We’ll also cover best practice guidelines and ethical foraging.
