Growing Great Garlic

Join Ben Ronniger from Allicins Ranch at the Library garden for an enlightening session on everything garlic. Get your hands dirty as we plant one of the Library Garden beds with garlic too. We’ll talk about the different uses of garlic and various ways to use garlic.

About the presenter:
Ben Ronniger started his education at the University of Kentucky in soil science and natural resource conservation. After graduating, he moved to Northern Idaho to learn from his uncle David Ronniger, a pioneer in organic food. Since founding Allicins Ranch in 2010, it has become a leading garlic seed internet company. Ben has cultivated over 100 garlic varieties, introduced many from abroad, and contributed to numerous magazines, including Saveur. He and his wife Claire, along with their child Isabelle, run the farm, producing garlic products and growing other crops. Ben enjoys napping, though he hasn’t managed to for over 44 years.
