100 Thousand Poets for Change
LOST HORSE PRESS & BONNER COUNTY HUMAN RIGHTS TASK FORCE PRESENT
Lost Horse Press & the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force are again co-sponsoring an event to coincide with the 100,000 POETS FOR CHANGE Open Mic taking place simultaneously in over 800 cities in 300 countries around the world on 30 September 2023. On that day, poets, artists, and musicians will gather in their towns and cities to promote positive personal, social, environmental, economic, and political change they wish to see happen in the world. In Sandpoint, community members can submit original or found poems, songs, or may otherwise artistically express their ideas for positive change. Our theme this year is inspired by a quote from a poem by Ukrainian poet Serhiy Zhadan. Please use the short verse below as a prompt as you create your poem/song for change.
“Let’s be brave this summer. Let’s be patient, let’s be generous.” – Serhiy Zhadan
Come read, sing, dance, make art, or just listen! Join us! Express the change you’d like to make happen in our lives, in our community, in our world. It’s time for creative people to shape the change we all need!
