2018 Winter Title Banner

Teens, elementary kids, and preschoolers are invited to read with us this winter!

We are participating in a national winter reading challenge, and as a community, our Children's Department goal is to read for 30,000 minutes (or 500 hours). Libraries that meet their goal could win a cash prize. Our Teen goal is for each teen to read at least 10 hours. Sign-up today and read with us now until  March 1st!

What's in it for you?

The Library is offering some fun prizes along the way for kids and preschoolers including ice cream cones, free books, and your choice of prizes from the prize bin! Plus, we will have monthly prize drawings in January and February, and final drawing at the End of Winter Reading Party at the Sandpoint Branch on March 6th!

What about teens?

When you participate, you'll be entered into monthly prize drawings. Log your reading to win.

How do you log your reading?

To log reading online, you can set up individual reader accounts or families can set up family accounts on Beanstack - there's also an app for that! And if you already have an account from summer reading, just sign back in, enroll in the Winter Reading Program and start logging!

If you would prefer to keep track of your child’s reading on a paper log, print an elementary school log or a preschool log and bring it in to a library branch when it is complete.

Library activities

While we have no activities specifically for winter reading participants, other than the final party on March 6th, we are offering lots of fun programs this winter, including storytimes, Make It programs, and special programs. Find dates and times on our events calendar.
