Giving Tuesday is a national day of charitable giving that takes place annually on the last Tuesday of the month that encourages people to give a little or a lot to their favorite charities for a larger, collaborative impact to nonprofits.
The Library's Giving Tuesday initiative is promoting $5 donations toward Your Library Transformation. With about $50K left to raise for the $3.5 million remodel and expansion project at the Sandpoint Branch, The Library's goal is $2,400 in 24 hours. Donations of $5 qualify for the Granite-level donor benefit; the donor's name (or a name to honor) on a bookplate inside the cover of a book of choice in The Library's collection.
Local businesses including Sandpoint Super Drug and Starbucks have generously donated swag for giveaways and prize drawings. Other businesses are partnering with The Library to promote the event - Beet & Basil @ the Creek, Century 21 Riverstone, Evergreen Realty, Home Depot, Safeway, Starbucks, Super Drug, Thorne Research, and Yokes. The Sandpoint Friends of the Library will match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $1,500 through the end of the year.
